Delhi: Health Minister Satyendra Jain tests positive for Covid19

The Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has been tested positive for corona virus, the Office of Delhi Heatlth Minister stated.

The minister had been tested negative the first time. However, due to the smiliarity of the symptoms with corona virus, the doctors re-tested him and found him positive.

Delhi AAP MLA Atishi has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The 39-year-old, who represents the Kalkaji constituency in south Delhi, complained of a mild fever and cough.

Earlier last week, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was tested negative, from the coronavirus pandemic.

Delhi currently has 44,688 confirmed cases, 16,500 recovered, 1,837 deaths. "We may need more ICUs in the coming days. Discussed with doctors of our Delhi government hospitals on how to increase number of ICUs," Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday wrote to HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhrial regarding CBSE's plan to conduct the remaining exams of class 10 and 12 in July.

Meanwhile

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 17th, the country currently has 354K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 155227 active cases with 186935 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 11903.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 113445 corona cases with 57851 cured, 5537 deaths, and 50057 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 44688 cases with 16500 cured, 1837 deaths, and 26351 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 48019 positive cases with 26782 cured, 528 deaths 20706 active cases. Gujarat with 24577 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 17082 have been cured, 1533 deaths, and 5962 active cases.
