Delhi High Court Seeks AAP & Police's Response on 'Hate Speeches' by Congress & BJP Leaders Hate

New Delhi, March 12, 2020:

The Delhi High Court has sought the response of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and Delhi Police on a fresh petition on hate speeches made by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Salman Khurshid and Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Anurag Thakur and Kapil Mishra.

A Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C. Hari Shankar has directed both to file their response by March 16 and listed the plea, along with similar ones on March 20.

The Bench has issued notice to the Delhi Police and AAP government on the petition, which has also seeks registration of cases against those allegedly making hate speeches.

The petition has sought assessment of the property damage during the communal violence in Northeast part of Delhi. It has additionally setting up of a special investigation team (SIT) to assess the same.
