Mumbai, November 26, 2019:

Moments after the Nationalist Congress Party's Ajit Pawar resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister, Bharatiya Janata Party's Devendra Fadnavis resigned as the Maharastra Chief Minister.

This development has been reported just ahead of a floor test that was scheduled for today in the Maharashtra Assembly.

Fadnavis' resignation has come a mere few days after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

According to reports, Fadnavis has cited that the BJP does not have a majority as the cause for stepping down from the post of Chief Minister.

It may be mentioned here that NCP's Ajit Pawar had resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra earlier this day, ahead of the floor test.
