3-time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit (born: 31 March, 1938) has passed away today at the age of 81 due to prolonged illness.
Shiela Dikshit had been ill for a long time. She was admitted at around 10.30 am today and breathed her last at 3.30 pm at a Delhi hospital.
It may be mentioned that she was also very close to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Sheila Dikshit was an Indian politician who was the longest serving Chief Minister of Delhi, serving for a period of 15 years from 1998 to 2013. Dikshit led Congress party to three consecutive electoral victories in Delhi.
