Patna, October 7, 2019:

The fear of epidemic outbreak has gripped the flood-hit areas of Bihar.

After the water level receded, more than a thousand cases of dengue were reported across the flood-hit areas of the state. Around 700 cases have been reported from the state capital, Patna itself. A few cases of Chickengunya have also been reported.

Bhagalpur, Nalanda, Saran and Vaishali, apart from the state capital, are the ones affected with Dengue and Chickengunya cases.

It may be mentioned here that the state has cancelled the leaves of all the government doctors so that the people have access to doctors in the affected areas. Authorities have also launched a fumigation drive to combat the mosquito borne disease from spreading further in water logged areas.
