Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJP) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been released on interim bail till January 19. Lalu had earlier been convicted of in two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation scam cases filed by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.
A Special Judge from Delhi granted bail to Lalu after a video conference. Lalu appeared from Ranchi as he could not travel to Delhi due to poor health. Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav, who were also accused in the case, are also out on bail till January 19. Lalu has applied for regular bail in both cases. The cases relate to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two IRCTC (Railways) hotels to a private firm.
