The selfie mania seems to have taken over the youth consciousness in all corners of the country and it seems that selfies have become the cause of many controversies in this day and age.
This time, a US-based girl has allegedly gotten her college-going Chennai boyfriend beaten up, kidnapped, and robbed. The reason she went through the trouble? Because he refused to delete a selfie of the two of them together!
The bone of contention was a selfie as the boyfriend, Naveen Ahamed, had refused to delete a selfie of the two of them together taken at a hotel in the Anna Nagar area. In an argument that ensued, the man allegedly hit the woman with a helmet. Later, the woman allegedly befriended four local goons on social media and got them to rough up the boyfriend on Thursday.
The victim was returning home when four men allegedly approached him. The victim was allegedly forced by the accused to accompany them. After going around nearby localities, the gang took the victim to a secluded spot near Jafferkhanpet. The gang then took the victim’s iPad and watch along with other possessions.
The victim regained consciousness the next morning and informed his family from a borrowed mobile phone. The victim then approached the TP Chatram police and filed a complaint against the accused. Investigation revealed that the victim was in a relationship with a US based woman.
