Ranveer Singh starrer film, Gully Boy which recently won the highest number of thirteen awards at the 65th Filmfare Awards held in Guwahati, had been termed as receiving “paid” awards by a Wikipedia user.
Gully Boy was nominated for 19 awards and succeeded in receiving 13 awards. It also became the highest award winning film in the Filmfare. However, this particular achievement allegedly made a film fan upset who later on went to the Wikipedia site and edited the films winning table by adding the word “paid” to it. The user tried to portray the award as a paid one.
Although the page was re-edited to the original form but the edited version remained for several hours. Several Twitteratis took their anger to social media calling the award as a suspicious one.

One user named ChandanRJ on Twitter stated, “When i came to know most of the awards were dedicated to Gully Boy, my expressions were of shocking to know Kesari didn’t receive a single award”. He questioned if Filmfare Awards 2020, got paid.
Another user by the name Rohit Singh Raikwar said, “Dear Filmfare awards today you lose your creditability by choosing Gully Boy for every awards. Oscar rejected this movie. But you guys don't care about talent and originality of content.”
Gully Boy shone bright in the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Male), Best Actor (Female), Best Supporting Actor (Male), Best Supporting Actress (Female), Best Music Album, Best Lyrics Award, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Background Score and Best Production Design among the categories at the 65th Filmfare.
