Justifying his hug of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament recently, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said “hateful remarks” against him by Modi prompted him to do so.
He, however, admitted that the act of hugging the Prime Minister didn’t go down well with everyone in the Congress as they didn’t “approve” of it.
Addressing a gathering at Bucerius Summer School in Hamburg, Germany, Gandhi stressed that hate could not be countered with hate and that only non-violence could counter violence.
Gandhi’s hug of Modi became viral throughout the country and many considered the act of the Congress president as a master-stroke aimed at taking the sails away from the Prime Minister.
