India corona positives cross 112K, recovery rate up by 40%

As of 22th May, India has reached 118,000* in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 66,330 active cases with 48,533 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 3,583.

As many as +150 coronavirus deaths were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours. Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 41,642 corona cases with 11,726 cured and 1,454 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 12,905 cases with 5,488 cured and 773 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 13,967 cases with 6,282 cured and 94 deaths. The National Capital with 11,659covid19 cases has crossed the 10 thousandmark on 18th May. So, far5,567 have been cured in Delhi with 194 deaths.

India has already overtaken China in terms of coronavirus cases and so far it is the country with 11th most cases in the world. So far, the USA has the highest number of covid19 cases at 1,620,902.

The recovery rate has increased to 40% since 26.59% on May 4 when lockdown 3.0 commenced. On april 15 when lockdown 2.0 began, the rate of recovery was 11.42%.

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 5.08 million, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus' spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.
