Indian Army Jawan Martyred in IED Blast in J&K's Akhnoor

Jammu, November 18, 2019:

A Indian army soldier was martyred in a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Pallanwala area in Akhnoor Sector of Jammu & Kashmir on Sunday.

The martyred soldier, Havildar Santosh Kumar, aged 40, had sustained grievous injuries and was evacuated to Army Command Hospital in Udhampur. However, he succumbed to the injuries.

The suspected IED blast took place at around 11 am, according to sources. The soldier, who hails from Agra, is survived by his wife, Vimla Devi.

A statement released by the Indian Army stated, “Havildar Santosh Kumar was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The Nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
