A video has been doing the rounds on social media lately which shows an Indian family stealing a great deal of stuff from a hotel in Bali, Indonesia, and then getting caught and subsequently being embarrassed by the staff.
The tourists are then called out on their thievery by the staff who embarrass them and check their luggage, only to find a lot of the stuff from the hotel packed along with their luggage.
In the video, it appears that the group from India took electronic equipment, decorative pieces, and more. As the hotel staff continues to frisk their baggage, a man can be heard stating that he is willing to pay. However, the hotel staff adamantly states that it's not a case about money, but rather "respect".
The Indian tourists have been mocked by Twitterati, which will no doubt add salt to their wounds of embarrassment.
"What a shame .. dont understand what do they get by stealing hotel items ? if they can afford a holiday outside India then i am sure they can easily afford them .. then what makes them to steal these things ? Just for fun ? For sure their passports should be cancelled", wrote a user, while another wrote: "This is so shameful, yet so common. People do it out of habit, affluent, smart people. And look at the defiance here , they are so rude to the hotel staff even after being caught. "We will pay" .. throwing money around seems to be the answer for all wrongdoings for these people."
