NEW DELHI: Rohit Sardana, a well-known TV news anchor, and journalist died of COVID-19 this morning.
Rohit Sardana had been infected with COVID-19 for almost a week and was undergoing treatment for it.
Rohit had tweeted on April 24 that he had contracted the coronavirus.

Several journalists, including Sudhir Chaudhry, a former colleague from Zee Network, current colleagues at the TV Today organization have confirmed his demise and condoled Sardana's untimely death.
Sardana, who is known for his fearless approach and distinct vocal style, has appeared in prime-time television shows such as Zee Network's 'Taal Thok Ke' and Aaj Tak's 'Dangal.'
He also received the Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar Award in 2018.
Earlier this morning the Delhi-based Assamese journalist Nilakshi Bhattacharyya succumbed to COVID-19 at a private hospital.
Meanwhile, India’s cumulative caseload reached 1,83,76,524, with over 3.86 lakh new COVID-19 cases recorded in the past 24 hours, the highest since the pandemic began a year ago.
The death toll has risen by 3,498 in the last 24 hours, bringing the number to 2,08,330.
