The Indonesian Lion Air's Boeing 737, which crashed into the sea on Monday, was reportedly being flown by an Indian pilot. He was among 188 passengers and crew feared dead.

According to reports, the pilot, Bhavye Suneja, was a resident of Mayur Vihar in Delhi. He had joined Lion Air in March 2011 and since then, he was officially flying the Boeing 737.

It was further reported that Suneja was also considering coming India and wanted his posting in Delhi. He was in a discussion with a leading airlines company about his posting.

According to his Linkedin profile, he got his pilot licence from Bel Air International in 2009. In 2010, he joined the Emirates but shifted to Jakarta to join Lion Air the next year.

A Lion Air passenger plane, which took off from Jakarta in Indonesia on Monday, crashed into the sea shortly after takeoff with 189 people on board.
