Renowned sand artist Manirud Jaman Manir staged a sit-in protest at Juhu beach in Mumbai with a piece of sand art prepared by him, to protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
Manirud Jaman Manir, curving out the map of Assam with sand, wrote: “I OPPOSE CAB”. To mark the protest, he also held an “Assamese Gamusa” that was inscribed with the words: “Joi Aai Axom”.

It is to be mentioned here that the introduction of the Citizenship Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday has led to mass uprisings and intensified protests in every the nook and corner of the Northeast.
The North East Students’ Organizations (NESO) has called for an 11 hours North East bandh, which has been fully supported by various indigenous organizations.
