Despite grenade attacks in Kashmir's Pulwama district, violence in West Bengal, and faulty EVM Machines, 63.56% people turned out to exercise their democratic right to vote during the fifth phase of the elections held on May 6, 2019.
Voting was held in 51 constituencies across seven states - Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
The fates of political heavyweights such as Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Smriti Irani will be decided in this phase of polling.
This phase is considered crucial for the BJP, which in 2014 had won 39 out of these 51 seats.
With this phase, the election is over in 424 seats and polling in 424 seats. Polling in the remaining 118 seats on May 12 and 19.
The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases from April 11-May 19 in the country. Counting will take place on May 23.

Jharkhand: 64.6 percent
West Bengal: 74.4 percent
Madhya Pradesh: 65.5 percent
Uttar Pradesh: 57.9 percent
Bihar: 57.7 percent
Rajasthan: 63.7 percent
Anantnag: 8.7 percent
Ladakh: 63.7 percent
