Guwahati, March 21, 2019:

The BJP released its first list of 182 candidates on Thursday, March 21 during the auspicious occasion of Holi. Among the names that the party announced were those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Amit Shah.

The party has decided to choose PM Narendra Modi from the Varanasi Constituency, whereas Amit Shah will contest from Gandhinagar, the erstwhile seat of L.K. Advani.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh will contest from Lucknow while Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will fight from Nagpur.

In a salivating contest, the BJP will field Textiles Minister Smriti Irani from Amethi, the seat that Congress President Rahul Gandhi will also contest from.
