With the view to motivate the troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, general Officer-Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh along with Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Kanwaljeet Singh Dhillon on Tuesday (November 19) interacted with them.
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and Lt Gen Dhillon visited the troops after four Indian Army soldiers got martyred after being hit by an avalanche. An eight-member team of Army personnel in northern Siachen Glacier was hit by an avalanche on Monday.

The team was on a patrol when the incident happened at an altitude of 19,000 feet around 3:30 pm. Two civilian porters also died after being trapped in the avalanche.
Interacting with the troops, Lt Gen Singh lauded the jawans for remaining alert and vigilant.
Lt Gen Singh complimented them for blocking the enemy's misadventures and facing situations like ceasefire violation and infiltration while tackling tough natural challenges like difficult terrain, snow, and avalanches.

Singh also complimented all ranks for their commitment and selfless dedication towards protecting the country.
