The Maharashtra police arrested a 56-year-old man for allegedly murdering his live-in partner and dismembering her body before disposing of it.

The man hacked his partner's corpse with a tree cutter and cooked her body pieces in a pressure cooker, according to the authorities.

He later disposed of them by placing them in plastic bags. Saraswati Vaidya, 32, has been identified as the victim.

When officers entered the flat, they discovered about 12-13 parts of the woman's corpse. The accused was said to have disposed of some of the body pieces over the course of two to three days.
