The Police has seized as many as 292 low-intensity crude bombs from Thane, Maharashtra. An individual has also been arrested for illegal possession of the explosives. The accused has told the police that the crude bombs were meant to kill wild animals. The crime branch of Thane Police acted on a tip off and kept a tab on the accused, who has been identified as Pravin Patil. He was arrested from Daighar area of Thane. Officials have informed that they found 292 crude bombs while searching a bag that the accused was carrying.
According to the bomb disposal squad, the crude bombs were made of some explosive materials, pellets and coins. The police is now trying to find out if there is any involvement of gangs in the illegal sale and purchase of the explosives.
