Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing the traditional Tamilian attire of ''veshti'' (white dhoti), half-sleeve white shirt and angavastram over his shoulder, welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mamallapuram. Xi was casually attired in a white shirt and black trousers.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has visited India for the second informal India-China Summit.
Both the leaders are to do a spot of sight-seeing at Mahabalipuram before they go for dinner being hosted by PM Modi.

Earlier, Xi was accorded a red carpet welcome at the airport here on his arrival and received by Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal.
About 500 Tamilian folk artistes performed on his arrival including “tappattam,” and “poi kal kuthirai” while a group of colourfully dressed women presented a Bharatanatyam programme.
The temple priests with traditional honours greeted Xi Jinping before he boarded his car.
