Modi’s GST is ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’: Rahul GandhiGabbar Singh Tax

Guwahati, March 19, 2019:

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has found a new moniker for the Narendra Modi-introduced GST (Goods and Service Tax) and has termed it the ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’.

This was said by the Congress President as he addressed a gathering at Indira Gandhi Park Ground of Papum Pare district in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday as a part of his Lok Sabha campaign in the North East.

Addressing the crowd in Itanagar, Rahul Gandhi said, “Modi promised to reduce the taxes to be paid by the small scale entrepreneurs in the country. For this, he introduced GST (Goods and Service Tax), which in literal meaning is ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’ that is being collected from small-scale entrepreneurs. The BJP party had promised to generate employment and reduce the five different types of taxes to be paid by public in the last Lok Sabha elections, but now these taxes are used for filling the pockets of the saffron party members in the name of the ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’ and nobody knows what exactly this GST is.”
