Mumbai is in the grip of floods yet again, and the harsh weather elements are making the lives of Mumbaiwallahs very difficult. Many areas of Maharashtra are being hit by incessant floods, and at least 30 people have died in Mumbai city alone due to flood-related accidents.
Flood does not affect humans, it affects animals as well. This, it is indeed heartwarming to see officials showing equal care for animals during such a dire situation.
A video has emerged on social media which is making the entire nation go "awwww". In the video posted by the Mumbai Police on their official Twitter handle, Police Officer Prakash Pawar can be seen 'rescuing' a dog from the flood in the city.
Mumbai police posted the video on Twitter alongside the message: "Man’s best friend, found its best friend in PC Prakash Pawar too. data-query-source="hashtag_click">#FriendsIndeed"
In the video, the officer can be seen lifting the pariah dog, which was being swept away in the flood, out of the water.
This humane act of the Officer has earned him plaudits on social media.
User Dhaval Mehta wrote: "Salute to Mumbai police for putting their lives at risk during such situations"
Another user, Gopi Shankar, wrote that this "small gesture" is a "huge statement of faith in humanity."
