The famous Haji Ali Dargah, which is 552-year-old, has been listed in the World Book of Records as one of the most visited shrines.

The Dargah, popular for its Indo-Islamic architecture, is a religious as well as a tourist spot. Thousands throng to the Haji Ali in Mumbai for a glimpse and experience history under one roof.

World Book Records, Vice President, Usman Khan views that the Haji Ali unites people of all religions. “Not only it is located on a small island but also brings together people from all religions,” he was quoted as saying.

A team conducting the ground work was dedicated to check if the application to be enlisted in the World Book of Records was deserving. The team, Khan said, had sent the application for World Book of Records’ final approval and issuance of the certificate.

The World Book of Records has handed over the certificate to the Haji Ali Dargah chairman and seniormost managing trustee Abdul Sattar Merchant.

According to reports, the Haji Ali witnesses a footfall of around 50,000 people on a daily basis.
