NDA has last laugh in RS deputy election

New Delhi, Aug 9, 2018

Ruling NDA registered yet another major victory when its candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh, who is from Janata Dal (United), emerged victorious in the election to the post of Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

As against the united opposition candidate BK Hariprasad’s 105 votes, Singh garnered 125 votes.

The election was seen as a major test for the Opposition in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election scheduled in 2019.
