The troops of under command Battalions of Guwahati Frontier, Border Security Force seized a huge consignment of cannabis and phensedyl in the bordering areas of village Baskotal, Seoti-ii, Khetaberkutti and Sita, Coochbehar in West Bengal on June 9th, 2020.

In first operation, acting on tip-off, troops of Border Out Post Sabri and BOP Jhikri, 192 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out special operation in general area of village Seoti-ii and Khetaberkutti, PS- Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 08 packets of Ganja (Total -24 KG) wrapped with plastic.

In the second operation, acting on a tip-off, troops of Border Out Post West Chamta and BOP Gomukh of 100 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a two special operation in the general area of village West Chamta and Sitai, PS- Sitai, Coochbehar in West Bengal and seized 109 bottles of Phensedyl.    

The above consignments were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh across the Indo-Bangladesh International Border.

Seized Ganja and Phensedyl were handed over to Police Station- PS-Sahebganj and Sitai, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) for further legal action. 

BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavors to contain such trans-border crimes.
