Leaders from all across the nation have paid their tributes to former President and elite scientist APJ Abdul Kalam (aka 'Missile Man') on his 4th death anniversary.
Many prominent leaders from the Northeast Indian states paid tribute to the much-beloved former President who had the uncanny ability to unite people on both ends of the political spectrum, on social media platform Twitter.
Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju wrote: ""Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work" -APJ Abdul Kalam. Remembering Former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his Death Anniversary."
Veteran Congress leader from Assam and 3-time former Chief Minister from Assam, Tarun Gogoi wrote: "Remembering former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary. His contribution towards the nation is indelible.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also took to Twitter to salute the fallen leader on his 4th death anniversary.
APJ Abdul Kalam was an aerospace scientist and a phenomenal teacher who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007, and widely referred to "People's President". Kalam collapsed while delivering a lecture at Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Shillong and died from an apparent cardiac arrest on July 27, 2015. He was 83.
