PM Modi's 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot' campaign amidst war-like tensions

As tensions continue to escalate with the enemy nation Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy with the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ election gimmick. Narendra Modi, the ‘best campaigner’ will today interact with over 1 crore BJP workers from all over the country through video conference in what is being claimed as the “biggest video conference in the world" by the party.

As the entire nation is worried about the well-being of IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who is in Pakistan custody (which is evidenced by the #BringAbhinandanBack trending on social media platform Twitter, and the widows of the 42 jawans who were martyred during the Pulwama attack continue to grieve, the Prime Minister is busy with the election campaign and promoting the NaMo app. Meanwhile, BJP banners can now be seen across Uttar Pradesh lauding the 'Surgical Strikes 2.0'.

Meanwhile, an Indian AIF pilot called Abhinandan Varthaman who went down on the other side of the LoC after a fierce airborne battle in which a Pakistani F16 jet was also shot down, according to reports. Pakistan has released three videos so far, in which he is shown to be in their custody. In midst of this crisis, with the entire country concerned about his well-being, it can be argued that election preparation and campaigns could perhaps have been slowed down.

New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has, meanwhile, urged the Prime Minister to postpone the BJP “mahasanbad” and added that “we as a nation, need to spend all our energies and time to get the IAF pilot back safely and to sternly deal wid Pak.” Opposition parties have also slammed the current administration for “politicization of the sacrifices of armed forces”.
