Pratiksha Das, a 24-year-old lass from Mumbai, has become the first female to have a licence for a BEST bus. By doing so, this capable lady has broken the stereotype that women cannot be capable drivers.
Pratiksha tells The Times of India that she completed her engineering degree and I was planning to become an RTO officer. For that, I needed a license in heavy vehicles as it is compulsory. Since she had wanted to
learn to drive a bus, it was perfect.
Her love for heavy vehicles is not new as she started off with bikes, then larger cars, and now, she can drive buses and trucks. She derives the most pleasure from driving the largest vehicles, like trucks.
Pratiksha has also revealed that she had learned driving within 2 days when she was still studying in the 8th standard. The fearless woman with a passion for driving has won admiration from one and all and her daredevilry has won her many admirers (she has over 48K followers on social media platform Instagram).
The sky is the limit for this young lassie and Pratiksha’s next aim is to fly an aeroplane, a dream that seems achievable, considering the fact that she and machines seem to have an almost inexplicable bond.
