In an address to the farmers of the nation from outside the Parliament yesterday, Rahul Gandhi urged Prime Minister Modi to waive all farm loans. In a scathing attack, Rahul criticized Modi for turning a blind eye to the plight of farmers.
Assuring farmers that the Congress intends to waive farm loans soon, Rahul Gandhi added: “We promised to waive loans in 10 days. In two states we did it within six hours and we would do it in the third state very soon.” He was referring to the fulfillment of campaign promises made before the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Rahul Gandhi opined that the recent victories of the Congress in key heartland states is a win for the poor, the farmers, the youth, labour and small shopkeepers. Rahul further added that the Congress and its allies will not let the PM sleep at night until the issue has been resolved.
