The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has disclosed that a new Rupees Twenty note will soon be in circulation.
In a statement released on 26 April, the Reserve bank has announced that the notes will be 'greenish-yellow' in color. In an official statement released on Friday, the central bank, which is the official issuer of currency in the country, said that the new denomination has motif of Ellora Caves on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage.
The central bank has already issued new look currency notes since 2016 in the denominations of Rs 10, Rs 50, Rs 100, and Rs 500, besides introducing Rs 200 and Rs 2,000 bank notes.
