The Supreme Court ordered the floor test of Yeddyurappa to be held at 4PM today, reducing the 15-days time frame allocated by Governor Vajubhai Vala. The resignation of the Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa ahead of the Floor Test has to some extent regained the faith of the people in the pillars of democracy.
The Karnataka Assembly Election results created a havoc across the nation where BJP winning single mandate with 104 MLAs claimed to form the government. Whereas the Congress-JD(S) post alliance had 117 MLA demanding to form the Government. But Governor Vajubhai Bala favoured the BJP asking Yeddyurappa to prove his majority within fifteen days.
The decision rose agitation in various parts, and thereafter the Congress and Janata Party Secular moved to the Judiciary filing a petition against the same. Finally the decision of the Supreme Court has once again restored the trembling faith of the people in the Constitution and the entire process of Democracy.
