NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been airlifted to AIIMS Delhi from Ranchi via air ambulance at 6 pm Saturday after his health condition worsened.

The former Bihar Chief Minister who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ranchi has reportedly deteriorated on Saturday.

According to reports, Yadav’s blood sugar level has shot up while his kidneys are also not functioning properly while his son Tejashwi Yadav said that his father also shown water deposition, which is a cause of worry.

Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav visited Lalu at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on Friday night.

Meanwhile, the jail authorities sought approval from the CBI court to airlift the leader.

It may be mentioned that Lalu Prasad has been lodged in prison after being convicted in the fodder scam case, has taken ill over past months.
