Saina Nehwal Joins Bharatiya Janata Party

New Delhi, January 29, 2020:

Ace badminton player Saina Nehwal has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.

Nehwal joined the ruling party in presence of BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh. The player said that the hardworking nature of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inspired her to join the party.

She added, “It is a privilege for me to be working with PM Modi.” The Badminton champion joined BJP at the party headquarters in New Delhi.

Haryana-born Saina Nehwal is one of country’s most successful athletes, with both Olympics and Commonwealth Games medals under her belt.

In 2015, she became the first Indian woman shuttler to achieve the World No. 1 ranking.
