Supreme Court to hear Ayodhya title suit in January

Guwahati, October 29, 2018:

The Supreme Court will hear the Ayodhya title suit in January, a three-judge Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said. He, however, did not specify the date.

The court’s order was in response to a batch of petitions filed by Hindu and Muslim stakeholders.

The petitioners were challenging the 2010 judgement of Allahabad High Court that ruled for the trifurcation of the disputed site in Ayodhya into three segments for Ram Lalla, Nirmohi Akhara and the original Muslim litigant.

On September 27, the apex court had said the civil suit on the land dispute would be heard by a three-judge Bench on October 29.
