Intelligence inputs have signalled possible terror threats along the western coast of Goa, raising concerns among the public as well as the Goan administration. Now, Section 144 of the CrPc (banning unlawful assembly of people) has been imposed in the Northe Goa district.

Meanwhile, North Goa District Magistrate R Maneka, through an official notification, has informed that the order imposing Section 144 will be in effect for 60 days, from February 11 to April 10.

Meanwhile, the administration has said that intelligence inputs suggest the presence of threats along the western coast of Goa. Furthermore, the possibility of "anti-social elements" disrupting life in Goa has also been suggested by the official reports.
North Goa District Magistrate R Maneka, in the notification, has also stressed on the necessity to take pre-emptive measures against terror activities and has cautioned the people to verify the antecedents of all persons before leasing or renting out their properties.
