Two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were killed in Tral in Kashmir’s Pulwama district in an encounter with security forces on Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir, police have said.
Kashmir police, on social networking site Twitter, released the following statement: “So far dead bodies of two terrorists affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM retrieved from the site of encounter. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. Searches still in progress. Further details shall follow.”
“Based on a credible input about the presence of terrorists in Pinglish area of Tral Awantipora, a cordon and search operation was launched today jointly by police and security forces in the area. As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the terrorists. The fire was retaliated leading to a gunfight”, police said.
The identities of the two militants are being ascertained.
