Two Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) militants were killed during an encounter that broke out on Wednesday between militants and the government forces in Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian district.
Reportedly, the armed forces were conducting a search operation in the area when militants opened fire on them.
IGP Kashmir, S P Pani confirmed that two Jaish militants, including a commander of the terror outfit, have been killed in Memander and said it was a clean operation without any collateral damage.
However, the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
