NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services preliminary examinations scheduled to be held on June 27 have been postponed.
The examinations have been rescheduled for October 10 due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
"The UPSC has postponed the civil services (preliminary) examination, 2021, which was scheduled to take place on June 27, 2021, due to the current conditions caused by COVID-19. This examination will now take place on October 10, 2021 "the UPSC issued a notification.

The Civil Services exam was also postponed from May 31 to October 4 last year. The main written exam has been completed so far. Owing to an increase in coronavirus cases, the interview too was postponed.
The commission has postponed other examinations as well.
The examination for the Employees' Provident Fund Organization's selection of compliance officers, which was scheduled for May 9, has been postponed.
"As and when dates for the postponed tests/Interviews are determined, candidates will be given at least 15 days' notice," the Commission said.

The interview for Indian Economic Services and the examination for Indian Statistical Services has been postponed as well.
Registration for the Combined Medical Services examination, which was set to begin on May 5, has also been postponed by the Commission.
The commission conducts civil service examinations in three stages each year to recruit officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
