Iconic dairy brand 'Amul' has used its mascot, the adorable Amul Girl, to convey a poignant message in the wake of the serial blasts that rocked several prominent Churches and high-end hotels on Easter Sunday.
A sketch released by the dairy brand features the usually cheerful ‘Amul girl’ shedding tears. The middle of the creative is occupied by a sketch of the island nation Sri Lanka, which is ironically shaped like a tear. On the right are the words: “Heartless. Defenceless. Senseless.”
With a simple cartoon, Amul has managed to impressively depict the mood and sentiments in the nation where "defenceless" worshippers were dragged to death's door by "heartless" terrorists in a "senseless" act of destruction.
It is to be mentioned that the death toll in Sri Lanka’s Easter Sunday serial bomb attacks has risen to 359 as of Wednesday. Thirteen Indians were also among those who were snatched away from us by terrorists.
The gulf-based terror group Islamic State, also known as ISIS, has claimed responsibility for the dastardly attacks.
