Congress MP and former Party President Rahul Gandhi have raised concerns regarding the press release done by the Foreign Ministry of People's Republic of China. In that he has raised, that "national interest is paramount. GOI's duty is to protect it".

The comments came after the release by China stated "that the right or wrong about the incident is clear". Rahul Gandhi has hinted that the response is a justification made by the neighbouring after the NSA Ajit Doval and Foreign Ministry talks held on Monday.

Earlier, NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese State Councillor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi had a telephone conversation. They had a frank and in-depth exchange of views on the recent developments in the Western Sector of the India-China border areas after the Galwan incident.
In this regard, they further agreed that both sides should complete the ongoing disengagement process along the LAC expeditiously. The two sides should also ensure a phased and stepwise de-escalation in the India-China border areas. It was also agreed that NSA Ajit Doval & Chinese FM Wang Yi will continue their conversations to ensure full and enduring restoration of peace and tranquillity in the India-China border areas in accordance with the bilateral agreements and protocols, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Rahul Gandhi has linked the justifiable utterances of China after this meeting.
