AAP transgender wing launches 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' campaign as Delhi CM's arrest petition goes to SC

The transgender wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has initiated the 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' campaign in Delhi, aiming to garner public support for their cause.

AAP leader Dilip Pandey and councilor Bobby Kinnar have joined forces in this campaign, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and representation in politics.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is set to hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's petition challenging his recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta will preside over the hearing today.

Kejriwal's petition, filed on April 10 following a ruling by the Delhi High Court, contends that his arrest was politically motivated and based on unreliable evidence. Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, argued that crucial documents were withheld from the defense, leading to an unfair arrest and remand.

The petition seeks Kejriwal's immediate release and demands the declaration of his arrest as illegal. It challenges the accusations against him, claiming they are based on contradictory and belated statements from co-accused turned approvers.

However, the Delhi High Court's rejection of Kejriwal's plea emphasized his alleged involvement in utilizing illicit funds and crafting the now-scrapped liquor policy. It also accused him of demanding kickbacks and engaging in scandal-related activities during his tenure as the national convenor of AAP.
