The mortal remains of Sergeant Surendra Moga, who laid down his life during cross-border shelling in the RS Pura sector, were brought to his native Mandawa village amid an outpouring of grief and pride. Draped in the national tricolour, the fallen soldier’s coffin was received by grieving family members, fellow villagers, and military personnel who gathered to honour his supreme sacrifice.
Sergeant Moga, a committed defender of the nation, lost his life while bravely countering enemy shelling from across the border. His daughter, Vartika, in a poignant and resolute statement, expressed both her pride and her burning desire to follow in her father’s footsteps.
"I am proud that my father embraced martyrdom while eliminating enemies and safeguarding the country," said Vartika, her voice steady with determination. "Our last conversation was at 9 PM last night. He mentioned that drones were hovering, but no attack had occurred yet. Today, he is no more... Pakistan should be wiped out entirely. I will become a soldier like my father and avenge his death. I will eliminate them one by one."
As the nation mourns another brave heart lost in the line of duty, Vartika's words echo the indomitable spirit of countless families who continue to stand tall despite personal loss — their courage becoming a pillar of national strength.
