BJP leader Nalin Kohli targets JD(U) MP over comment on Ram Mandir invitations

BJP leader has questioned the heated politics over the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after a comment by a JD(U) MP who compared the consecreation ceremony to a 'shraadh or wedding' over the issue of invites.

Reacting to the volley of recent comments over the Ram Temple, Kohli questioned the kind of politics that is being played over the matter and targeted Congress and their allies within the INDIA bloc while saying that they are raising questions and doing politics over the name of Lord Ram.

"What kind of statement are coming with regards to Lord Ram? The Congress at one point even questioned the very existence of Lord Ram in an affidavit filed before the honourable Supreme Court. One of the INDI alliance partners is considering that Sanatan Dharma is like a disease. Another INDI alliance partner is questioning Seeta Maiya or Goddess Seeta. Now we have a leader from the JD(U) who is saying that is it some kind of a wedding that you are giving an invitation? Must they do politics on Lord Ram and the inauguration of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya. The Prime Minister will be there. Crores of Indians, people who believe in Lord Ram are rejoicing about it. But these leaders for their own political reasons are going out of their way to raise questions and do politics on the name of Lord Ram and the temple," said Kohli.

The latest controversy was spawned by JD(U) MP Kaushlendra Kumar created a furore on Friday after he compared the temple consecreation ceremony to a 'shraadh' after he quesioned the need for invites to the event. Kumar had questioned whether it was someone's marriage or a 'shraadh' due to which invitations were being sent out.

Noteworthy is that the chief priest of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Acharya Satyendra Das had given a strong reaction to Kumar's comments yesterday by stating that only a fool would use such language for the Ram Temple.

The JD(U) MP's comment came in even as politics over the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray had also earlier reacted on not getting an invite for the event by saying that he did not need any invitation to visit the temple.

Noteworthy is that over 7000 guests have received invitations for the gran consecreation ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya set to take place on January 22.
