Caught on Cam: Bengal DJ shot dead amid violent clash over teasing of girls

In the early hours of Monday (May 27), a disk jockey from West Bengal, identified as Sandeep, was shot dead inside the Xtream Sports Bar, located near the Radisson Blu hotel in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The incident occurred following a clash between two groups of intoxicated men over the "teasing" of girls.

The situation escalated when one group called their friends, who arrived armed with batons, leading to a violent confrontation. Amid the chaos, half a dozen bullets were fired, resulting in Sandeep's death. Sandeep, who was performing at the bar on a "performance wage," succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Kumar Mishra provided details to journalists, stating, “There was a scuffle between the bar’s bouncers and customers. Soon, outsiders entered the scene, and half a dozen bullets were fired, resulting in Sanjeev’s death.” The police have gathered CCTV footage and forensic evidence from the crime site to aid in their investigation.

Despite an ongoing search operation to track down the culprits, no arrests had been made as of 9.30 am on Monday. SSP Sinha added, “A clash happened between customers and bouncers at the bar. It might be possible that one of those customers carried out this incident. We are searching for the culprits. The investigation is underway.”

The authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend those responsible for the fatal shooting, with a focus on identifying and locating the individuals involved in the violent altercation.
