Former Madhya Pradesh minister and Congress leader Raja Pateria made a controversial remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking people to be ready to kill Modi to save the constitution.
In a viral video, Pateria is seen asking people to ‘kill Modi to protect the constitution. He in the video is alleging that PM Modi is dividing society.
Later in the same video, the Congress leader claims the word "murder" in his speech means defeat.
He said he follows Mahatma Gandhi's ideology of non-violence, and that he meant it was necessary to defeat PM Modi electorally to protect minorities.
The video has emerged from Pawai town in Panna district.
Hours after the video surfaced, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra ordered to file an FIR against the Congress leader.
Union minister Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi called Raja Pateria's remark against the Prime Minister "an unpardonable crime". "Even if Raja Patria declares himself mentally unsound, he should not get away with this crime. I request the government of Madhya Pradesh that immediate and strict action should be taken against Raja Pateria," he said in a video appeal.
On November 29 during a poll rally in Gujart, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made an objectionable comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi comparing him with Ravan, as he's visible in every election. He said that does Modi has 100 heads as he's visible in every election.
