Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrates holi with Armed Forces Personnel in Ladakh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated Holi with  Armed Forces personnel at Leh Military Station where he applied 'tika' on their foreheads as part of the festive celebrations.

Singh's presence and participation in the Holi festivities with the military personnel highlight the government's recognition and appreciation of the sacrifices and dedication of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation's security.

Originally scheduled to visit the Siachen area, the world's highest battlefield, to celebrate Holi with deployed armed forces personnel, Singh's plans were altered due to unfavorable weather conditions. Instead, he arrived in Leh to partake in the celebrations of the vibrant festival, which spans March 24 and 25.

The Siachen Glacier, situated at approximately 20,000 ft in the Karakoram range, holds the distinction of being the highest militarized zone globally. Here, soldiers contend with extreme weather conditions, including frostbite and high winds, as they fulfill their duty to defend the nation.

In light of the significance of Holi, a festival that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's gesture of applying Gulal to the jawans serves as a token of solidarity and camaraderie with the armed forces personnel stationed in Ladakh.

Singh's visit underscores the government's commitment to standing in solidarity with the armed forces, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and sacrifice in safeguarding the nation's borders and ensuring its security.
