Haryana Congress chief Uday Bhan faces backlash for abusive language against PM Modi, BJP demands action

A video showcasing Haryana Congress Chief Uday Bhan using vile language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has emerged, sparking outrage. The incident comes in the wake of a recent row over BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's verbal attack on BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha.

As the video circulated, BJP leaders condemned Uday Bhan's derogatory language and called for his removal from the party, mirroring the Congress's demand for action against Bidhuri on September 22.

Defending his statements, Uday Bhan maintained that he did not specifically name anyone and that he merely conveyed the truth. He stated, "What I did say that was wrong? Did I use abusive words? I only stated the truth. I would have apologized if had said anything wrong... BJP should keep their MPs and leaders under control. I have said similar things in 20-30 rallies before. If I have said anything wrong, they can go to court," reiterated the Haryana Congress President.

The controversy follows Rahul Gandhi's meeting with Danish Ali on September 22, where the BSP MP expressed his willingness to consider resigning from Parliament if Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla did not take action against BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri, who had targeted the Muslim MP with derogatory remarks. Rahul Gandhi responded to the meeting by saying, "Nafrat ki bazaar mein muhabbat ki dukan" (a shop of love in a marketplace of hatred).

Subsequently, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla questioned whether Haryana Congress President Uday Bhan's language reflected "muhabbat ki dukan" (a shop of love). He criticized the Congress for its choice of words, adding, "Here is the Congress President in Haryana - he has used the most inexcusable, horrible language for PM & CM. Will the Congress sack him? Is this Muhabbat Ki Dukan? No, this is Congress ke gaali galauj ka saaman" (this is Congress's stockpile of abuses).

Poonawalla also highlighted instances where Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, had used strong language in the past. He remarked, "From abusing Modi samaj....to this - Rahul Gandhi has only encouraged this language & behavior! Rahul Gandhi, Kharge ji & Sonia ji themselves have used worst abuses too. Even Janta has been called Rakshas by Congress so this is their true character."
