How a toddler rescued from a borewell after 20-hour operation

In a dramatic rescue operation spanning 20 hours, a two-year-old boy trapped in a borewell in Karnataka's Lachyana village was safely brought to the surface on Thursday afternoon. The successful rescue brought immense relief and joy to the community after an ordeal that gripped hearts across the region.

The toddler, identified as Satvik Satish Mujagond, had fallen into the borewell and was heard crying inconsolably throughout the rescue operation. Despite the challenging circumstances, celebrations erupted as he was finally retrieved from the depths of the borewell, where he had been trapped at a depth of 16 feet.

Immediately upon extraction, Satvik was swiftly transferred to an awaiting ambulance stationed at the site, where a medical team stood ready to provide necessary care and attention.

The harrowing incident unfolded when Satvik ventured out to play near his house and accidentally fell headfirst into the borewell. The discovery was made when his cries were heard by someone nearby, prompting a swift response from the authorities.

Rescue efforts commenced around 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening, spearheaded by teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Utilizing cameras to locate the child and providing oxygen through a pipeline, officials worked tirelessly throughout the night to reach him.

A video capturing the rescue operation depicts the painstaking efforts of authorities as they dug into the ground to reach the trapped child. Despite reaching Satvik after 18 hours, he remained lodged between two rocks, requiring an additional two hours of intensive digging before he could be safely extricated.

The successful rescue stands as a testament to the dedication and coordinated efforts of the rescue teams involved, bringing an end to a tense and anxious wait for Satvik's family and the community at large.
