Raja Raghuvanshi murder case: Brother Vipin demands narco test, clarity on motive

In the ongoing investigation into the high-profile murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, his brother Vipin Raghuvanshi has publicly demanded a NARCO (narcoanalysis) test of the accused Sonam, citing concerns over unclear motives and alleged gaps in the police investigation.

Speaking in an emotionally charged statement, Vipin said: “I’ll appeal for the NARCO investigation in the High Court because till now we don’t know the motive behind the murder. I have shown all the photos of the things and money that Sonam took with her, and how much police have found till now; we have no idea…”

Vipin’s appeal comes amid increasing pressure from the victim’s family, who believe Sonam may be withholding crucial information about financial transactions or hidden motives related to the killing. The family insists Sonam’s cooperation—potentially through narcotesting—may shed light on alleged unaccounted-for assets and undisclosed communication or planning.

Police have confirmed that Sonam—who allegedly accompanied Raja on the fateful day—has been cooperative so far, providing statements and assisting in evidence collection. However, investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive or uncover comprehensive forensic details linking her to the crime.

The case gained national attention when Raja’s body was discovered earlier this year under suspicious circumstances, prompting widespread social media outrage and demands for swift justice. Sonam, the primary accused, was arrested after police located her through mobile tracking and CCTV footage.

The Lucknow Police have stated that all procedures, including forensic analysis and evidence collection, were being carried out meticulously. They stressed that narcoanalysis would only be considered after a detailed examination of its legality and admissibility in court.

As the investigation unfolds, the revelation of Vipin’s intent to approach the High Court for a narco test highlights ongoing tensions between the victim’s family and the investigating team.

With public scrutiny at an all-time high, the next few weeks may prove critical in determining whether the probe can uncover the full truth behind Raja Raghuvanshi’s tragic death.
